What to do next?

We offer a number of four/five bedroom houses to let each year and we thought it might be helpful to give students a brief guide as how to proceed.

  1. Get together with three or four fellow students with whom you feel happy to share a house with.
  2. Contact either Peter or Zara Blanchard on 0787 66 55 565 during office hours. We can then advise you what houses are available for you to view and the monthly rent.
  3. If you chose to rent one of our houses, we will require each of the prospective tenants to pay a small deposit which then secures the house.
  4. Within a week of you securing the property we ask each prospective tenant to provide a guarantor (usually a parent or guardian) residing in the UK who will be responsible to pay that individual’s rent if she/ he should default.
  5. Once all guarantors have signed an agreement to act as guarantor, we will arrange a meeting with all the prospective tenants in order that they can sign the Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement (Click here to view a copy). On signing  the agreement the tenants will be required to pay  a deposit of one months rent. This deposit is returnable to the student at the end of the tenancy under the terms of the agreement.
  6. Tenants will then be required to pay one months rent in advance and complete and return a Direct Debit Mandate for the rest of their monthly payments before moving into their house.
  7. There is NO council tax to pay on student houses, tenants are responsible for utility bills.
